Border Design: Unlike typical single-border sarees, this piece features distinct contrasting borders—one side showcases a clean white panel with fine red and purple striped detailing, while the other side is a bold green band, creating an asymmetric and striking frame.
Color and Dye: The deep red body is achieved using organic, sustainable dyes derived from the root bark of the Aal (madder) tree, a signature process of the Mirgan tribal weavers of Kotpad.
Motifs and Weaving: The saree is heavily adorned with extra-weft tribal motifs, including temple spires, fish, human figures, and ritualistic symbols, reflecting the indigenous folklore and rich cultural heritage of the Koraput region.
